ELECTRIC RAZOR SOLD ON THIS DAY IN 1931

Jacob Schick introduced the first successful electric shaver to go on the market
from his factory in Stamford, Connecticut. They first sold in New Your City for $25
each (equivalent to $350 today). Schick sold about 3,000 shavers the first year,
and sales increased until 1.5 million were in customers hands by 1937.

Despite some early claims, they didn’t shave closer than a wet steel blade, but
they were convenient to use.

John Benson Sebastian singer, songwriter, guitarist and autoharpist. He is
best known as a founder of
The Lovin’ Spoonful, a band inducted into the
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. One of his tie-dyed denim jacket’s is prominently displayed there.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Colin Trevorrow is taking the reins of "Jurassic Park."
Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment announced Thursday that the
36-year-old director will helm "Jurassic Park 4."

Trevorrow made his feature film directorial debut with last year’s "Safety Not
Guaranteed."

Steven Spielberg is executive producing "Jurassic Park 4," which is set for
release in 3-D on June 13, 2014. The script was written by "Rise of the Planet
of the Apes" screenwriters Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver.

The first two "Jurassic Park" films were directed by Spielberg, while the third
installment was helmed by "Captain America" director Joe Johnston.

The dinosaur franchise has grossed $1.9 billion at the box office worldwide
since the first film was released in 1993.

The original "Jurassic Park" will be rereleased in theaters April 5 in 3-D.

CARTOON CHARACTER RETURNING TO TV!

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Mickey Mouse cartoons are coming back to TV as Disney attempts to revive one of the world’s most popular characters.

The 19 episodes, hand-drawn and in 2-D, will debut June 28 on the Disney Channel, Disney.com and the Watch Disney Channel app.

In a preview on Disney.com, Mickey and Minnie are working at a Paris cafe when
they face a shortage of croissants. In the 3-minute, 30-second cartoon, Mickey
goes on an adventurous trip through the city to fulfill their orders.

Walt Disney Co.’s CEO Bob Iger told CNBC on Tuesday that the shorts harken
back to the days of founder Walt Disney, highlighting Mickey’s "impish" and
"innocent" qualities.
