It’s a Wonderful Life was nominated for five Oscars without winning any, although
the film has since been recognized by the American Film Institute as one of the 100

CLASSIC FILM RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1961

Judgment at Nuremberg is a 1961 drama based on the Holocaust and the Post-
World War ll Nuremberg Military Tribunal in 1947 of certain judges who served
during the Nazi regime in Germany. The movie won the Academy Award for Best
Actor (Maximilian Schell) and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from
Another Medium, and was nominated for eleven Academy Awards. Many of the
big name actors who appeared in the film did so for a fraction of their usual
salaries because they believed in the social importance of the project.

the greatest male American screen legends of all time. In 1996 he received the

Eli Herschel Wallach is a film, television and stage actor who gained
recognition for his performance in the Elia Kazan black comedy Baby
Doll
(1956). He won a BAFTA Award for Best Newcomer and a Golden
Globe nomination.  Considered to be his most famous roles is that of
Tuco in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966).

Agnes Robertson Moorehead (December 6, 1900 – April 30, 1974)

Moorehead began acting with Orson Wells and the Mercury Theatre. She
later appeared in more than seventy films beginning in 1941 with Citizen
Kane and on dozens of television shows during a career that spanned
more than thirty years, Moorehead is most  known to viewing audiences
for her role as the Endora the witch in the ABC-TV series Bewitched
(1964-1972). She earned on Emmy Award and two Golden Globe
awards in addition to four Academy Award and sis Emmy Award
