The Tonight Show is a late-night talk show that has aired on NBC-TV since
Monday September 27, 1954. It is the longest currently running regularly
scheduled entertainment program, and the third longest-running show on
NBC, after Meet the Press and Today. The shows first host was Steve Allen
till 1957. Fellow radio personality Gene Rayburn (below) was the original
announcer for the show.
Construction of Walt Disney World in Florida began in 1967, less than a year after Walt Disney’s death. The operation opened on October 1, 1971.
William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody was a soldier, buffalo hunter and
showman. He was one of the most colorful figures of the Old West, mostly
famous for the shows he organized with cowboy themes. Buffalo Bill received
the Medal of Honor in 1872. He died on January 10, 1917.
