Marvin Nathaniel Hagler (May 23, 1954 – March 13, 2021)


(Fox News) –
Marvelous Marvin Hagler, the boxing legend who
was the undisputed middleweight champion from 1980 to 1987 and
recorded 52 knockouts during his career, has died. His wife Kay,
made the announcement Saturday on Facebook stating
the boxer died unexpectedly at his home in New Hampshire.

Eight days after his inauguration, President Franklin D. Roosevelt
gave his first national radio address, or “fireside chat” (above), broadcast directly from the
White House
during the Great
Depression.  He began that address simply: “I want to talk for a
few minutes with the people of the United States about banking.”
He went on to explain his recent decision to close the nation’s
banks in order to stop a surge in mass withdrawals by panicked investor’s worried about possible bank failures. The banks would
be reopening the next day.


Roosevelt thanked the public for their “fortitude and good temper
during what he called the “banking holiday.”

FASHION DOLL KEN IS HAVING A BIRTHDAY

Ken is a doll and fictional character introduced by Mattel in 1961 as
the counterpart of
Barbie, who was introduced two years earlier.

Similar to his female counterpart, Ken has a fashionable line of
clothing and accessories. In the Barbie mythos, Ken met Barbie
on the set of a TV commercial. He is Barbie’s boyfriend, as it is
written on every box produced since 1961. Since his debut, Ken
has held at over 40 occupations. He was invented by Elliot
Handler
(below).

Luis Palau Jr. (November 27, 1934 – March 11, 2021)

Palau was an international Christian evangelist living in the Portland
area
in Oregon, He was born in Argentina and moved to Portland in
his mid-twenties to enroll in a graduate program in Biblical studies.

Palau had a long and close relationship with evangelist
Billy Graham,
and has been characterized by many as Graham’s successor. “One
of the world’s leading
evangelical Christian figures,” he is known for
his strong appeal to young people, and for his efforts to reach out to
secular leaders to address issues like homelessness.


In January 2018, Luis Palau shared on Facebook that he had stage
four lung cancer.
