Steven Frederic Seagal is a  action film star, producer, writer, martial artist, musician and a reserve deputy sheriff. A 7th-dan black belt in Aikido, Seagal was a instructor in Japan before moving to the Los Angeles,California are where he made his film debut in Above The Law (1988). By 1991, he had had starred in three successful films, and would go on to achieve greater fame in Under Siege (1992). Seagal is also a recording artist and guitarist and the founder of Steven Segal Enterprises. In addition to his professional achievements, he is also known as an environmentalist, an animal rights activist.

MAJOR 3-D FILM PREMIERED ON THIS DATE IN 1953

House of Wax is a horror film starring vincent Price, (pictured below). It is a remake of Warners’ Mystery of the Wax Museum (1933). It was the first 3-D color feature from a major Hollywood studio. The general release of House of Wax was on April 25, 1953.

Sidney Lumet (1998)

The New York Times reported today that acclaimed film director Sidney
Lumet, who directed films such as “Network” (1976) and “Dog Day
Afternoon” (1975, and “12 Angry Men” (1957) has died at the age of 86.

DENNIS QUAID TURNED 57 TODAY

Actor Dennis William Quaid became known during the 1980s after
appearing in several successful films, including  Jaws 3-D (1983),
in Dreamscape (1984), Innerspace (1987), Flight of the Phoenix
(2004), and The Day After Tomorrow (2004). Quaid also earned
good reviews for his role in The Right Stuff (1983) and achieved
acclaim for his portrayal of Jerry Lee Lewis in Great Balls of Fire
(1989). He is the younger brother of actor Randy Quaid.
