Martha Tilton (November 14, 1915 – December 8, 2006)

               Benny Goodman hired Martha Tilton as a vocalist with his band
               in August 1937. She was with Goodman in January 1938, when
               the band gave the first jazz performance at Carnegie Hall. She
               continued to appear as his star vocalist until the end of 1939.

Carol Elaine Channing was born in Seattle, Washington.

Carol Channing is a Broadway veteran who is best known for her
roles in Hello, Dolly! and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. She received
an Oscar nomination, a Golden Globe Award, and a total of three
Tony Awards. After attending high school in San Francisco, she
worked as a model in Los Angeles.

The song “Honey” by Bobby Goldsboro hit No. 1 the week after Martin Luther
King, Jr. was assassinated in Memphis. Further, the Billboard Hot 100 top 10
run of "Honey" began the week of the King assassination and ended the week
of the assassination of Robert Kennedy, and no other Hot 100 entry had a top
10 run that spanned that same time interval. It sold over one million copies in
the United States.

Edward Lodewijk "Eddie" Van Halen was born in the Netherlands.

Musician, songwriter, and producer Eddie Van Halen the co-founded the rock
band Van Halen. He was joined in the band by Alex Van Halen, Wolfgang Van
Halen, David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony. He used to travel from Pasadena
to San Pedro to learn classical piano from an elderly gentleman at the request
of his mother.  Eddie Van Halen is ranked #8 on Rolling Stone’s list of Top
100 Guitarists.
