SHOW DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1968


Happening ’68 was co-hosted by Mark Lindsay and Paul Revere
with their band Paul Revere and the Raiders making frequent       
appearances on the show.

Happening ’68 was a rock & roll variety series produced by Dick Clark
Productions
, which aired on the ABC television network. The show
followed American Bandstand on Saturday afternoons. Happening ’68 
was popular enough that ABC added a weekday spin-off. It’s Happening
ran on Mondays through Fridays from July 15, 1968 through October 25,
1968. When 1968 ended, Happening ’68 became just Happening, which
was canceled in October 1969.


1966 ~ 1972

Morning Reign reunited to perform at the "Salem’s Rockin’ 60’s Show" at
the Salem Armory Auditorium in Salem Oregon on October 20, 2012. Band
members were Ric Seaberg (lead vocals), Craig Chastain (guitar & vocals),
Steve Tate (drums), Doug "the shadow" Heatherington (bass guitar), Gene
Heliker (guitar & vocals) and Bob Baker (keyboards & vocals). The group
once opened for The Doors, The Dave Clark Five, Dino, Desi & Billy, Peter
& Gordon and others when they appeared on stage at the Salem Armory.

RECORDED ON THIS DAY IN 1958

"It Doesn’t Matter Anymore" was written by Paul Anka and recorded
by Buddy Holly in 1958. The song reached No. 13 as a posthumous
hit on the Billboard Hot 100 charts in early 1959 shortly after Holly
was killed in a plane crash on February 3, 1959. The single was a
two-sided hit, backed with "Raining in My Heart".

record together before their split in April 1970. The group made 16
takes of the song, the last of which was deemed satisfactory.
