Omnibus is a commercially sponsored, educational television series
that ran on CBS-ABC-NBC from 1952 – 1961.
The Omnibus was hosted by Alistair Cooke in his American television debut, featured diverse programming about science, the arts, and the humanities.

The last steel beam that was standing from one of the World
Trade Centre towers is driven up West Street between rows
of New York City Fire and Police Department officers.
In New York, a ceremony was held to officially mark the end
of the clean up from the World Trade Center terrorist attacks
on September 11, 2001.

Based on outcry from parents who bought into what may have started as an
idle rumor, the FBI launched a formal investigation in 1964 into the so-called
pornographic lyrics of the song “Louie, Louie.” The investigation finally
neared its conclusion on this day in 1965, when the FBI Laboratory declared
the lyrics of “Louie, Louie” to officially unintelligible. The tune would go
on to become one of the most –covered songs in rock-and-roll history.
Jack Ely, the guitar player and lead singer for the Kingsmen, sang
the classic rock and roll song “Louie, Louie, ” died April 27, 2015
at age 71.

(AP) – Little Richard, the rock legend best known for the hits "Tutti Frutti"
and "Good Golly Miss Molly," has died.
Pastor Bill Minson, a close friend of Little Richard’s, told The Associated
Press that Little Richard died Saturday morning. The musician’s son,
Danny Jones Penniman, also confirmed his death to Rolling Stone and
said the cause of death was related to bone cancer.
Little Richard was nicknamed "The Innovator, The
Originator, and The Architect of Rock and Roll".
