FORMER PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZER DIES AT 52

Jerome Kersey (June 26, 1962 – February 18, 2015)

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Jerome Kersey, the small forward who
played his first 11 NBA seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers
and helped the San Antonio Spurs win the 1999 title, has died.

The Trail Blazers confirmed Wednesday night that Kersey had
died suddenly after collapsing outside the team office on the
way to his car.

SINGER LESLEY GORE HAS DIED AT 68

Lesley Gore (Lesley Sue Goldstein) (May 2, 1946 — 16 Feb. 2015)

Gore died of cancer at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan. She
recorded the pop hit “It’s My Party” at the age of 16 in 1963.

ANNOUNCER GARY OWENS IS DEAD AT 80

Gary Owens (born Gary Altman in Mitchell, South Dakota) 
(May 10, 1934 – February 12, 2015)

Owens died from complications due to type 1 diabetes, a condition he
had experienced since childhood.

RETIRED RADIO NEWSCASTER, DEAD AT 75

Jim Howe (1940 – 2015) lost his fight with cancer on Friday February
6. He became a member of the KEX (1190) news staff in 1962 and continued with the Portland station for 39 years.
