Alexandrina Victoria (May 24,1819 – January 22, 1901)  

On this day in 1837,Queen Victoria ascended the British throne
following the death of her uncle, King William IV.  Her reign of
63 years and seven months is known as the Victorian era and
was longer than that of any of her predecessors.

It was on this day in 1967.

The Steven Spielberg movie premiered on this day in 1975.

Dominick George "Don" Pardo (February 22, 1918 – August 18, 2014)

Longtime NBC announcer Don Pardo, best known as the often-heard,
rarely-seen constant during 38 seasons of constant change at "Saturday
Night Live," died late Monday.

Pardo’s daughter, Donna, told the Associated Press her father passed
away at his home in Tucson, Arizona. He had moved to Arizona in 2006.
