SPOCK DELIVERED FIRST STAR TREK LINE

"The Cage" is the first pilot episode of the Star Trek: The Original Series
science fiction series. In this episode, the character Mister Spock, played 
by Leonard Nimoy (r) delivers the very first line in all of Star Trek, "Check
the circuit!"

Grace Lee Whitney (Mary Ann Chase) turned 83 in April. Besides her
role in Star Trek, she was also the original mermaid for the Chicken
of Sea tuna ad campaign. Whitney has made more than a hundred
television appearances since her television debut in Cowboy G-
Men
in 1953.

Whitney’s autobiography was released in 1998.The book delves
into her hiring and firing from Star Trek, her fight and eventual
victory over
alcohol and substance dependence, particularly
marijuana.

FRANK OZ IS 69 YEARS OLD TODAY

Puppeteer and film director Frank Oz was born Frank Richard Oznowicz
in Hereford, England. He launched his career as a teenager with Jim
Henson
and the Muppets, and went on to become the performer behind
such characters as Miss Piggy, Grover, and Fozzie Bear. He also played
Yoda in the Star Wars franchise beginning in 1977. Oz has directed
several successful films, including the 1986 musical comedy Little Shop
of Horrors.

Frank Oz retired full-time from the Muppets in 2002.They are now handled
by Eric Jacobson and David Rudman. Oz still occasionally performs his
Sesame Street characters.

A MONSTER CARD COLLECTION!

The 50-card issue was distributed in one-cent and five-cent packs with
gum. The photos of chilling monsters came from 19 different episodes
of the ABC televisions series The Outer Limits (1963-1965), including
18 episodes from the first season. Like the TV series, the 1964 Topps
Outer Limits cards are more popular now than they were upon the initial
