DORIS ROBERTS HAS DIED AT 90


Doris Roberts (Doris May Green) November 4, 1925 – April 17, 2016)

Roberts, known for her role as the mother from the CBS sitcom “Everybody Loves
Raymond” (1996-2005), passed away Sunday in L.A. She won five Emmy awards,
four of them for’’ ‘Raymond.’ Doris Roberts starred in many other movies, such
as “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” (1989).

TONY DOW IS 71 TODAY


Tony Lee Dow was born in Hollywood, California.

Dow played big brother, Wally Cleaver on the CBS/ABC television series, Leave
it to
Beaver (1957 – 1963) which earned him a Former Child Star "Lifetime
Achievement" Award. He was a Junior Olympics diving champion in his teens. He  
has become a sculptor, creating abstract bronze sculptures (above).

ED O’NEILL IS 70 TODAY

 


Edward Philip "Ed" O’Neill, Jr. was born in Youngstown, Ohio.

Ed O’Neill played Al Bundy on Fox- TV’s Married…With Children (1987-1997) 
and also stars as Jay Pritchett on ABC’s sitcom Modern Family (2009-present).

O’Neill briefly worked as a social studies teacher before pursuing acting. He is
a martial arts black belt, and was almost a professional football player but got
cut in training camp.

JAMES NOBLE HAS DIED AT 94


James Wilkes Noble (March 5, 1922 – March 28, 2016) 

Actor James Noble, best known for his portrayal of the sweet-
natured but naive Governor on ABC’s 1980s sitcom Benson
died on Monday in Connecticut. A spokesman for Noble’s
family said that the actor had suffered a stroke the week
prior to his death.

The show was modeled on the life of syndicated newspaper columnist
Thomas Braden, a real-life parent with eight children, who wrote a book
by the same title.
