COMEDIAN/JOURNALIST HAS DIED AT 74
Sir David Paradine Frost (7 April 1939 – 31 August 2013)
Frost was giving a speech on board the Cunard cruise liner, the MS Queen
Elizabeth. Saturday when he had a suspected heart attack and died.
During the later part of his career, he became known for his TV interviews
with political figures, among them The Nixon Interviews with former United
States President Richard Nixon in 1977, which were adapted into a stage
play and film.
MIKE DOUGLAS REMEMBERED
Mike Douglas (Michael Delaney Dowd, Jr.)
(August 11, 1920 – August 11, 2006)
Mike was a "Big Band" era singer, entertainer, and popular
television talk show host.
ED AMES IS 86 YEARS OLD TODAY
Ames is best known for his pop and adult contemporary hits of
the 1960s such as "My Cup Runneth Over". He was part of a
popular 1950s singing group called the Ames Brothers.
DOC SEVERINSEN IS 86 TODAY
Severinsen was born in Arlington, Oregon. After serving in
the U.S. Army, he made his broadcasting debut playing live
popular music on KODL radio in The Dalles, Oregon.
Severinsen is best known for leading the NBC Orchestra on
The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.
