Richard Wayne "Dick" Van Dyke is 91 years old today.
He served as a radio announcer in the United States Army Air Corps during
World War II and later transferred to the Special Services as an entertainer.

Singer Connie Francis released the 1958 hit "Who’s Sorry Now?" and
also appeared in many movies, including Looking for Love (1964). She
was one of the highest charting female solo singers in the 1950s and
1960s. She almost accepted a scholarship to New York University, but
pursued music full-time instead.
"Charlie Brown" was a top-ten hit for The Coasters in the spring
of 1959. It went to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts,
and was the first of three top-ten hits for the group that year.
Susan Hallock Dey was born in Pekin, Illinois.
Susan Dey played roles on the ABC television series The Partridge
Family (1970-1974) and L.A. Law on NBC (1986-1994). She also
appeared in the 1981 movie Looker. Prior to her acting career, she
spent time working as a model.
On Saturday, December 7, 1907 Christmas seals were
sold for the first time by Emily Bissell of the American
Red Cross in Wilmington, Delaware. She barrowed the
money from friends to print the first 50,000 Seals and
got permission from the Wilmington postmaster to sell
them in lobby of the post office.
