Gerald Patrick "Jerry" Mathers was born in Sioux City, Iowa.

Mathers is known for his classic role as a child on the CBS television
sitcom, Leave It To Beaver from 1957-1963. He made his first TV
commercial at age 2 for PET Milk and was a model for a department
store ad. Following his acting career, he became a successful banker
and real estate investor.

In 1981, Jerry Mathers worked as a disc jockey at KEZY-AM
radio in Anaheim, California.

Brooke Christa Shields was born in New York City, New York.

In 1983, Shields abandoned her career as a model, which she began when
she was eleven months old, to attend Princeton University, where she
graduated with a bachelor’s degree in French literature. In the 1990s,
Shields returned to acting, appearing in minor roles in films, and starred
in various television sitcoms.

Clinton "Clint" Eastwood Jr. is 86 today.

Eastwood worked as a lifeguard, a caddy, and a grocery clerk
while growing up in California.

Clint Walker (born Norman Eugene Walker in Hartford, Illinois)

Actor Clint Walker became known for starring in the ABC Western TV series
Cheyenne, which ran from 1955 to 1962, and for his role of Marshal Dave 
Harmon in the 1971 TV movie Yuma. He made over 40 appearances in his
television and film career, which earned him a star on the Hollywood Walk
of Fame in 1960. Walker worked as a doorman and club bouncer before
finding success in Hollywood.
 

The Indianapolis 500 is held annually at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
since its inception in 1911. The race has always been scheduled on or
around Memorial Day. Since 1974, it has been scheduled for the Sunday
of Memorial Day weekend. The event, billed as The Greatest Spectacle in
Racing, is considered part of the Triple Crown of Motorsport, comprising
three of the most prestigious motorsports events in the world.

The inaugural running was won by Ray Harroun (below) in 1911. The Indy 
race celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011, and the 100th running was
held today.
