JOHN FOGERTY IS 71 TODAY


John Cameron Fogerty was born in Berkeley, California.

John Fogerty was a singer and guitarist for Creedence Clearwater Revival, the
band that released hits like "I Put a Spell on You" and "Lodi." Fogerty later
pursued a successful solo career. One of his first bands was called The
Blue Velvets. He is listed on Rolling Stone’s list of 100 Greatest Guitarists
and 100 Greatest Singers.

RECORD RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1973

The son "Smoke on the Water" is from the 1972 album Machine Head by
the English rock band Deep Purple. In 2004, it was ranked number 434
on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of 500 greatest songs of all time and was
number 4 in Total Guitar magazines Greatest Guitar Riffs Ever and in
March 2005. Q magazine placed “Smoke on the Water” at number 12
in its list of the 100 greatest tracks.

Priscilla Ann Presley (Wagner)

Priscilla was the wife of singer Elvis Presley from 1967 to 1973. She met 
Elvis at age 14. Priscilla Presley starred with Leslie Nielsen in the three
successful Naked Gun films (1988,1991,1994), She also played the role
of Jenna Wade on the CBS television series Dallas (1978-1991).

MR. T IS 64 YEARS OLD TODAY


Mr. T  (born Lawrence Tureaud in Chicago, Illinois)

Mr. T became known as the "tough-guy" star on The A-Team
on NBC-TV from 1983-1987. He was also boxer Clubber Lang
in Rocky III (1982). He grew up in the projects and enlisted in
the U.S. Army, serving in the Military Police Corps. He later
developed his tough persona while working as a bouncer and
bodyguard. Tureaud professes to be a born-again Christian.
