SINGLE RECORDED ON THIS DAY IN 1965

The song "(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction" is considered the greatest song the 
Rolling Stones ever recorded. In 2004, Rolling Stone magazine placed the
song in the second spot on its list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". It
was added to the National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in

ROCK LEGEND IS 75 TODAY


Eric Victor Burdon was born in Tyne, Northumberland,  
England.

Burdon is the lead singer of The Animals on the recording
"The House of the Rising Sun". He also worked with the
funk band War. The band’s name changed from the Alan
Price
Combo to the Animals after Burdon’s arrival. He is
considered one of The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time
by Rolling Stone.

Bono (Paul David Hewson) is 56 years old today.

Bono spent his childhood singing. Growing up on O’Connell
Street in a suburb of Dublin, he earned his nickname "Bono"
from the phrase "Bono Vox of O’Connell Street," which means
"good voice of O’Connell Street." He was named the Time
Person of the Year in 2005, along with Bill and Melinda Gates.

SCOTTISH SINGER IS 70 TODAY


Donovan (Donovan Philips Leitch)

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Donovan had hits in the 1960s
like "Catch the Wind" and "Sunshine Superman." He was a Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame inductee in 2012. He had polio as a child,
which left him with a limp.

Billy Joel learned boxing to defend himself from bullies, and won twenty-
two bouts in the amateur Golden Gloves circuit. He played the piano at
bars to help support his mother while in high school.
