Robert Wallace Forster Jr. (Robert Wallace Foster Jr.)  
(July 13, 1941 – October 11, 2019)


Breaking Bad and Jackie Brown star Robert Forster has died aged
78.

The Oscar-nominated veteran actor died from brain cancer – the
day his new film, the Breaking Bad movie El Camino was released.

Forster was born in Rochester, New York, and began training to
become an actor at the University of Rochester, where he was as
a law student.

He would earn a Bachelor of Arts degree and took starring roles
in the student drama productions.

Forster landed a role on Broadway before appearing Reflections
In A Golden Eye by John Huston, which would spark his long
career.

Robert  Forster and Carla Gugino in the crime drama TV series Karen
Sisco, debuted on October 1, 2003 on ABC and was canceled after
seven  episodes.

Saturday Night Live (SNL), a topical comedy sketch show featuring Chevy
Chase, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Garrett Morris, Jane
Curtin and Laraine Newman, makes its debut on NBC; it will go on to
become the longest-running, highest-rated show on late-night television.

The 90-minute program, which from its inception has been broadcast live
from Studio 8H in the GE Building at Rockefeller Center, includes a
different guest host and musical act each week. The opening sketch of
each show ends with one actor saying, “Live from
New York, it’s Saturday
Night!”

ACTRESS DIAHANN CARROLL HAS DIED AT 84

Diahann Carroll
(Carol Diahann Johnson)
(July 17, 1935 – October 4, 2019)


Carroll was diagnosed with
breast cancer in 1997. She said the diagnosis
"stunned" her because there was no family history of breast cancer and
she had always had a healthy lifestyle. She underwent nine weeks of
radiation therapy, and was clear since. She died today in Los Angeles.


Her 1968 debut in Julia (NBC) the first series on
American television to
star a black woman in a nonstereotypical role, was a milestone both in
her career and the medium. In the 1980s she played the role of a mixed-
race diva in the
primetime soap opera Dynasty.
