ERIK ESTRADA IS 66 TODAY

Henry Enrique "Erik" Estrada is best known for his co-starring lead role in
the NBC television series CHiPs (1977-1983). Following the series, he
worked in real life as a deputy sheriff in Virginia. In more recent years,
Estrada has made appearances in reality TV shows, commercials, and
infomercials.
SITCOM DEBUTED ON THIS DAY IN 1961
Mister Ed the talking horse and co-star Alan Young as Wilbur Post
“Mr. Ed” first aired in syndication from January 5 to July 2, 1961, and then
on CBS from October 1, 1961, to February 6, 1966. It is one of the few
series to debut in syndication and be picked up by a major network for
prime time.
BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1922

Paul Winchell was born Paul Wilchinsky in New York
City, New York.
(December 21, 1922 – June 24, 2005)
Winchell was a ventriloquist, actor, and comedian who hosted
The Paul Winchell Show from 1950 to 1954 on NBC along
with Winchell-Mahoney Time from 1965 to 1968. He was
also the cartoon voice for Tigger in Winnie the Poo.
Winchell, who had medical training, was also an inventor,
becoming the first person to build and patent a mechanical
artificial heart.

A 1965 TV commercial for Pillsbury Flaky Biscuits featuring one of the
first appearances of the Pillsbury Doughboy (Poppin’ Fresh) who was
voiced by Paul Frees (below).
