On January 1, 1863, Abraham Lincoln signs the Emancipation Proclamation. Attempting to stitch together a nation mired in
a bloody civil war, Abraham Lincoln made a last-ditch, but
carefully calculated, decision regarding the institution of
slavery in America.
"The Masks" is episode 145 of the television series The Twilight
Zone. It originally aired on March 20, 1964 on CBS. It was the
only Twilight Zone episode directed by a woman, Ida Lupino
(shown below).

WASHINGTON (TND) — Actress Betty White, star of "The Golden
Girls" and many other TV series and films, has died just weeks
before her 100th birthday.
According to TMZ, law enforcement sources say the 99-year-old
comedy legend passed away in her sleep at her home Friday
morning. She would have turned 100 on Jan. 17.
