Harry Wayne "K.C." Casey is a singer, songwriter, and producer. He is
most famous for his group, KC and the Sunshine Band and as a producer
of several hits for other artists. Casey became interested in music at an
early age. As a teenager he played and sang with several local bands
and played piano at the Pentecostal church his family attended. He
further developed his music talent while in high school and studied
music at Miami-Dade Community College and worked part-time in
a music store. KC formed his band in 1973 and continues to tour
and produce for other artists.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was a influential Austrian composer of the Classical era.
He composed over 600 works, many acknowledged as the finest of symphonic, piano, operatic, and choral music. He is among the most popular of classical composers.
Mozart showed extraordinary ability from early childhood by being competent on the piano and violin. He composed from the age of five and performed before European royalty. At the age of 17, Mozart was hired as a court musician. Mozart died in 1791 at the age of 35. Many believe the cause was acute rheumatic fever.
SINGER CHARLIE LOUVIN ~ DEAD AT 83
Charlie Louvin, half of the Louvin Brothers whose harmonies inspired fellow country and pop singers for decades, has died due to complications from pancreatic cancer. He was 83. Brett Steele, his manager, said the country music hall of fame singer died at his home in Wartrace, Tennessee, early Wednesday. Louvin was diagnosed with cancer last year and underwent surgery, but continued to schedule performances and even put out an album. He was one of several stars invited to a welcome home performance of the Grand Ole Opry last year after floods damaged the Opry house. The Louvin Brothers were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001 and were cousins of songwriter John D. Loudermilk. (AP)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY STEVENS ~ 72 TODAY
Ray Stevens is a country music, pop singer-songwriter known for his novelty songs as well as his recent involvement in the Tea Party movement. Stevens’ recording career began in the mid 1950s with Prep Records. In 1958 Ray joined the National Recording Corporation (NRC), playing numerous instruments, arranging music, and performing background vocals for the labels bands. Stevens later signed with Mercury Records
recording a series of hit records in the 1960s that included songs such as Ahab the Arab and Harry the Hairy Ape.
NEIL DIAMOND TURNED 70 TODAY
Neil Leslie Diamond is a successful pop music singer-songwriter who scored a number of hits worldwide in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. In terms of Billboard chart success, he is the third most successful Adult Contemporary artist ever, ranking only behind Barbra Streisand and Elton John. Diamond continues to tour successfully, and maintains a very loyal following. Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984, in 2000
he received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award, and is soon to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
