Carl Reiner, actor, film director/producer, writer and comedian has worked
on a wide range of films and television programs. He has won nine Emmy  
Awards and one Grammy during this career. Reiner has the distinction of  
being the only person to appear on all five incarnations of The Tonight 
Show. Carl Reiner is the father of actor-turned-director, Rob Reiner.

‘’A VOICE OF CHEER AND CHEESE’’ ~ ED HERLIHY

Ed Herlihy (August 14, 1909 – January 30, 1999) was a newsreel 
narrator for Universal-International. His voice was heard in many
films on every subject, making him one of the best-known voices  
in broadcast history. He also was a long-time radio and television
announcer for NBC,  and was briefly interim announcer on The
Tonight Show
in 1962. Ed was also the voice of Kraft Foods radio  
and TV commercials from the 1940s through the early 1980s.

The Breakfast Club was a long-run morning variety show on NBC Blue Network/ABC radio originating in Chicago, Illinois. Hosted by Don McNeill (shown above).The radio program ran from June 23, 1933 through December 27, 1968. McNeill’s 35½-year run
as host remains the longest tenure for an emcee of a network entertainment program, surpassing Johnny Carson (29½ years) on The Tonight Show and Bob Barker (34⅔ years) on The Price is Right. For one year, beginning on February 22, 1954, the show
was simulcast on ABC radio and television, ending on February 25, 1955.

TODAY IS DAVID BRENNER’S 75th BIRTHDAY

David Brenner  is a standup comedian, actor, author, and filmmaker. Prior to
beginning his standup career, he wrote and directed over a hundred made-for-TV documentaries, which garnered him many awards, including an Emmy. Making his national television debut on the The Tonight Show, he has since become the most frequent guest on the show, with 158 appearances.

JOEY BISHOP ~ FEBRUARY 3, 1918–OCTOBER 17, 2007

Bishop began his career as part of a standup comedy act with his elder brother,
Maury. He guest-hosted on television’s Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson 
and frequently appeared on Steve Allen’s and Jack Paar’s previous versions
of The Tonight Show, both on NBC.

Joey starred in a sit-com titled The Joey Bishop Show, that ran for four seasons,
first  on NBC and later on CBS. He later hosted a talk show also titled The Joe
Bishop Show
on ABC (below) as competition to Carson’s Tonight Show. It ran
for two years. His sidekick was then-newcomer Regis Philbin.
