Tex Ritter was the first artist signed with the Newly-formed
Capitol Records as well as it’s first Western singer. His first
recording session was on June 11, 1942.

CUBA GOODING, JR. IS 43 TODAY
Cuba Gooding, Jr. won an Academy Award for Best
Actor for his character, Rod Tidwell in the 1996 film
Jerry Maguire.

Cuba played Navy Master Chief Petty Officer Carl Brashear
in the above 2000 film. Some exterior locations were shot
in downtown Portland.
THE BOB CUMMINGS SHOW DEBUTED ON THIS DATE IN 1955
Bob Cummings (center) played Hollywood playboy
photographer Bob Collins, his sister Margaret was
Rosemary De Camp (seated right), secretary “Schultzy”
was played by Ann B. Davis (standing left) and as Bob’s
nephew “Chuck” was Dwayne Hickman (standing right).
The NBC-TV sitcom aired until 1959. The Executive
Producer of the show was George Burns.
Cumming’s also played the role of his grandfather in the series.
