The TV drama series Kraft Television Theater began on May 7, 1947
on NBC airing on Wednesday evenings until  October 1, 1958.The live
hour-long series offered plays with new  stories and new characters each
week and was sponsored by Kraft Foods. Kraft Television Theater launched
the careers of more than a few actors, directors and playwrights, including
future Emmy-winning and Academy Award-nominated actress Hope Lange.

Ed Herlihy was the initial announcer of Kraft
Television Theater.
