My Mother the Car is an American fantasy sitcom which aired for just a single season
on NBC between September 14, 1965 and September 6, 1966. A total of thirty episodes were produced by United Artists Television and starred Jerry Van Dyke. Both critics and viewers panned the show. In 2002, TV Guide proclaimed it to be the second-worst show
of all time, just behind The Jerry Springer Show. The co-creator of My Mother the Car, Allan Burns, went on to create some of the most critically acclaimed shows in the
history of television, including The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970-1977 on CBS)
and Rhoda (1974-1978 on CBS).
