Actor DeForest Kelley was known for his iconic roles in Westerns and as
Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy of the USS Enterprise in the television and
film series Star Trek.

(AP) – Legendary Soul singer Etta James’ manager says the
singer has died in Southern California.

Lupe De Leon tells The Associated Press the singer died early
Friday at Riverside Community Hospital.

De Leon says the cause of death is complications of leukemia.

James enduring hits include "At Last" and "Tell Mama."

WESTERN TALKIE RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1929

Inoldarizona

In Old Arizona is a Western film based on the character of the Cisco
Kid. It was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture and
was a major innovation in Hollywood. The film was the first major Western
to use the new technology of sound and the first talkie to be filmed outdoors
using authentic locations. In Old Arizona starred Warner Baxter as the first
singing cowboy.
