NUMBER-ONE ALBUM ON THIS DAY IN 1958

“Come Fly with Me” reached #1 on the Billboard album chart in its second week, and stayed there for five weeks. At the inaugural Grammy Awards the song was nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.

Joseph Peter Breck
(March 13, 1929 – February 6, 2012)

Actor Peter Breck, best known for his role as Nick Barkley
in the ABC television series The Big Valley (1965-1969),
died Monday, Feb. 6th, in Vancouver, B.C. Breck, who
had been suffering from dementia, was hospitalized on
Jan. 10th of this year.

JACK PAAR WALKED ON THIS DAY IN 1960

“Tonight Show” host Jack Paar walked off the set while live on the air with four
minutes left in the show. He did this in response to censors cutting out a joke
from the show the previous night.
