FIRST OSCAR WINNING FILM WAS IN 1927

Wings is a silent film portraying World War l fighter pilots, produced by
Lucien Hubbard, and directed by William A. Wellman. It was the first film,
and the only silent film to win the Academy Award for, what was then 
called Outstanding Picture. The name Best Picture was first used in
1962 when the winner then was Lawrence of Arabia.

Coach Ramsay was with the Portland Trail Blazers from 1976 to 1986.

Jack T. Ramsay is a former basketball coach, known as "Dr. Jack". He is best
known for coaching the Portland Trail Blazers to the 1977 NBA Title. He has
also done broadcasting work with the Indiana Pacers, the Miami Heat, and for
both ESPN TV and Radio. Ramsay is one of the most respected coaches in
NBA history and is a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Actress Ann Sheridan worked regularly from 1934 until her death at age
51 from cancer, first in film and later in television. Notable roles include
Angles With Dirty Faces (1938), The Man Who Came to Dinner (1942),
Kings Row (1942) and I was a Male War Bride (1949).
