SINGER – SONGWRITER HAS DIED AT 72
Joe South (Joseph Alfred Souter)
(February 28, 1940 – September 5, 2012)
South wrote the country-pop favorite "(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden,"
had hits of his own with "Games People Play" and "Walk a Mile in My Shoes"
and recorded with Bob Dylan and Aretha Franklin. He died Wednesday of a
heart attack at his home in Flower Branch, GA.
