IT WAS THEIR ONLY TOP TEN HIT
Jay & the Techniques from Allentown, Pennsylvania were best known
for their Top 10 debut single, "Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie", which
was released in 1967 and reached #6 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It
was the groups lone Top 10 R&B and pop hit. Jay Proctor was the lead
vocalists and primary founder of the group.

In 1948 Betty Furness was performing in the CBS television series Studio One which
was broadcast live. She was asked to fill in for a actor to promote Westinghouse products during commercial breaks and impressed the company so much with
her ease and professional delivery that she was offered a contract to promote
their products and subsequently became closely associated with them.

Bonnie Lynn Raitt is 63 today. Raitt has received nine Grammy
Awards during her career. She is listed at number 50 in the
Rolling Stone magazine list of 100 Greatest Singers. She is
also listed at number 89 in the Rolling Stone list of 100
Greatest Guitarists.
