Peter Nero (born Bernard Nierow) recorded his first album in 1961,
and won a Grammy Award that year for "Best New Artist." Since then,
he has received another Grammy, ten additional nominations and
released 67 albums. When Nero was with RCA Records he produced
23 albums in eight years. He later moved to Columbia Records where
the outcome was the million-selling single and album, Summer of ‘42.

THE RED CROSS, FORMED ON THIS DAY IN 1881
The American Red Cross was established in Washington, D.C. on May 21,
1881, by school teacher Clara Barton, who became the first president of the organization. The Red Cross continues to be the nation’s premier emergency
response organization.
