SINGER-SONGWRITER ROGER MILLER
Roger Dean Miller (January 2, 1936 – October 25, 1992)
Miller is best remembered for his country/pop novelty songs such as “King of
the Road” (1964), “Dang Me” (1964), and “England Swings” (1965). Before
fame, Roger worked as a farm hand, plowing, picking weeds and cotton. He
died of lung and throat cancer in 1992, at the age of 56 shortly after the
discovery of a growth under his vocal cords.
