HE WAS OREGON’S 30th GOVERNOR
Thomas Lawson McCall (March 22, 1913 – January 8, 1983)
Tom McCall was the Republican governor of Oregon for two terms from
1967 to 1975. Prior to his political career, McCall worked in the city room
of The Oregonian from behind a typewriter and was also a well respected
radio and television journalist.

Actor William Shatner is also a musician, recording artist, author
and film director. He became a cultural icon for his portrayal of
James T. Kirk, captain of the USS Enterprise, in the NBC science
fiction series, Star Trek, from 1966 to 1969.
