Ernie K-Doe (Ernest Kador, Jr.) (February 22, 1936 – July 5, 2001)

"Mother-in-Law" was written and produced by Allen Toussaint (below) who 
also played the piano solo. After several unsuccessful takes, a discouraged
Toussaint balled the composition up and threw it away as he was leaving the
studio. One of the backup singers, Willie Hopper, thought that it was such a
good song that he convinced K-Doe to calm down and give it one more try.

Peter Nero (Bernard Nierow) started his music training at the age of seven
and by the time he was fourteen, he was accepted to New York City’s High
School of Music and Art and won a scholarship to the Juilliard School Of
Music. He recorded his first album in 1961, and won a Grammy Award
that year for “Best New Artist”.

While on a British tour, rock singer Jerry Lee Lewis announced he had
married his third wife, Myra Gale Brown who was his 13-year-old first
cousin once removed. Lewis was 22 at the time and the publicity of
the marriage caused an uproar and the tour was cancelled after only
three concerts. 

The scandal followed Lewis home to the US, and as a result, he was
blacklisted from radio and almost vanished from the music scene. He
was even dropped by Dick Clark from his shows.

His marriage, to Myra lasted for 13 years, from December 1957 to
December 1970. They had two children together:

Jerry Lee and Myra as they arrive back in Memphis, Tenn.
