A HERO HONORED ON THIS DAY IN 1927
Charles Lindbergh was honored with a ticker-tape parade down Broadway in New
York City to celebrate the achievement of his nonstop flight across the Atlantic to
Paris.. Four million people lined the streets that day to catch a glimpse of the
young aviator.

RICHARD THOMAS IS 62 TODAY
Thomas is best known for his leading role as John-Boy Walton in the
CBS drama The Waltons (1972-1981). During his career, Thomas
won an Emmy Award, and received nominations for another Emmy
Award and two Golden Globe Awards.
