William Joseph Schallert

Supporting Actor William Schallert has appeared in many films and TV
series such as The Rat Patrol, Gunsmoke, Star Trek, The Patty Duke
Show,The Waltons, Bonanza, and Leave It to Beaver.

Created and produced by Allen Funt, Candid Microphone first appeared
on the ABC radio network using hidden microphones. The format, though
embarrassing to many of his prey, proved highly popular. After a series
of theatrical film shorts, also titled Candid Microphone, Funt’s concept
moved to ABC television on August 10, 1948 when Candid Camera hit
the air as a long-running TV series..
