Barbra Walters left a long-time position as co-host of NBC’s Today Show to co-
anchor The ABC Evening News with veteran newsman Harry Reasoner. With
that historic move, she became the first female to co-host a nightly network
newscast.   

Barbara Walters is set to retire this summer. She will be
85 in September.

Frampton is an English rock musician, singer, songwriter, producer,
guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. He was previously associated with
the bands Humble Pie and The Herd and is known for his work as a
guitar player and particularly with a Talkbox and his tenor voice.  

Each year, Earth Day — April 22 — marks the anniversary of what many
consider the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. It
capitalized on the emerging consciousness, channeling the energy of
the anti-war protest movement and putting environmental concerns
front and center. The idea came to Earth Day founder Gaylord Nelson,
then a U.S. Senator from Wisconsin.
