ACTRESS WAS BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1905
Myrna Loy was born Myrna Adele Williams in Helena, Montana
(August 2, 1905 – December 14, 1993)
Myrna Loy was a actress from the 1930’s who starred in the 1934
film The Thin Man. She also appeared in Manhattan Melodrama
(1934), and The Mask of Fu Manchu (1932).
Before fame, Myrna Loy worked as a musical performer at Grauman’s
Egyptian Theatre. Loy was named the Queen of Hollywood in 1937. A
building at Sony Pictures Studios, formerly MGM Studios, in Culver
City is named in her honor.

Wesley Earl "Wes" Craven was born in Cleveland, Ohio
Wes Craven was the director of the classic horror film A Nightmare on Elm
Street in 1984. His first mainstream film was in 1972 with The Last House on
the Left. Craven also earned recognition for his work on the 1996 film Scream.
NUMBER-ONE ON THIS DAY IN 1964
“A Hard Day’s Night” was released on the movie soundtrack of the same name in
1964 and was later released as a single, with "Things We Said Today" as its B-
side.
