Buck Owens (born Alvis Edgar Owens, Jr. in
Sherman, Texas)
(August 12, 1929 – March 25, 2006)



Owens had 21 No. 1 hits on the Billboard country music charts with
his band the Buckaroos. They pioneered what came to be called the
Bakersfield sound, a reference to Bakersfield, California. Owens co-
hosted the CBS-TV series Hee Haw with Roy Clark from 1969 to
1986.

Mike Douglas (born Michael Delaney Dowd, Jr. in
Chicago, Illinois
) (August 11, 1925 – August 11, 2006)

Douglas was a "Big Band" era singer, entertainer, and syndicated 
television talk show host of The Mike Douglas Show. 

As a teenager, Mike Douglas was employed as a singer on a dinner
cruise ship on Lake Michigan. He served in the U.S. Navy during
World War II.

He left Elizabeth City State College to join the military, where he served
in the Coast Guard for twenty-one years, first as a mess attendant and
later as a Petty Officer Third Class.

Candid Camera was originally called The Candid Microphone and was first heard
on ABC radio June 28, 1947. Creator Allen Funt brought his program to ABC -TV
using the Candid Microphone title of the radio series, and then switched to NBC in
the fall of 1949 (for Philip Morris, with Ken Roberts as his announcer), at which
point its name was changed to Candid Camera
