The song "Mrs. Robinson" by the duo Simon & Garfunkel is from their fourth
studio album, Bookends. It is famous for its inclusion in the 1967 film The
Graduate
 and became the duo’s second chart-topper, hitting number one
on the Billboard Hot 100, and peaking within the top 10 in other countries

SINGLE RECORDED ON THIS DAY IN 1960

The song Are You Lonesome To-night? debuted on Billboard’s Top 40 at
number 35 on November 14, moved a week later to number two and topped
the chart by November 28. It was Presley’s 15th chart-topping single, it held
the top position until January 9, 1961. The singles release was delayed by
RCA Records executives, who thought the song did not fit Presley’s new
(and publicized) style.

The song Moonlight Serenade was a Top Ten hit on the U.S. pop charts 
in 1939, reaching number three on the Billboard charts, where it stayed 
for fifteen weeks. In 1991,it was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
