Richard Treat Williams
(December 1, 1951 – June 12, 2023)
On June 12, 2023, Williams was hit by a car
while riding his motorcycle on Vermont Route
30, near Dorset. He was airlifted to a hospital
in New York, where he died at the age of 71.
Treat Williams was an actor, writer and aviator
who has appeared on film, stage and television
in over 120 credits. He first became well known
for his starring role in the 1979 musical film Hair,
and later also starred in the films The Eagle Has
Landed, Prince of the City, Once Upon a Time in
America, and The Late Shift.
Williams was nominated for two Screen Actors
Guild Awards and nominated for three Golden
Globe Awards, two Satellite Awards and an
Independent Spirit Award.
Treat was the lead of the TV series Everwood from
2002 to 2006.
