SCREENWRITER HAS DIED AT 91

     Lorenzo Semple Jr. (March 27, 1923 – March 28, 2014)

Lorenzo Semple Jr., the creator of the classic Batman ABC-TV series
(1966-1968) has died. The screenwriter just turned 91 on Thursday
and passed away of natural causes at his home in Los Angeles Friday.

The Adventures of Superman was a long-running radio serial that originally
aired on the Mutual network from 1940 to 1949. The series, adapted from
the DC Comics character, shifted to ABC-Radio on October 29, 1949 and
continued until March 1, 1951. The 15-minute programs were sponsored
by Kellogg’s Pep.

Voight has won one Academy Award, out of four nominations, and three
Golden Globe Awards, out of nine nominations. He came to prominence
in 1969 with his performance in Midnight Cowboy and became a star in
1972 with his part in Deliverance. Voight one an Academy Award for Best
Actor for his with role as a paraplegic Vietnam veteran in Coming Home
(1978). He is the father of actress Angelina Jolie and actor James Haven
