REMEMBERING THE ALAMO!
The Battle of the Alamo began on February 23, 1836 and was a turning point
during the Texas Revolution. Following a 13-day siege, Mexican troops under President General Antonio López de Santa Anna launched an assault on the
Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Béxar, modern-day San Antonio, Texas.
All of the Texian defenders, including James Bowie and William B. Travis,
were killed by the end of the siege on March 6, 1836.
