FIRST BROADWAY PRODUCTION ON TV
On March 7, 1955, NBC presented Peter Pan live as part of Producers’
Showcase (with nearly all of the show’s original cast) as the first full-
length Broadway production on color TV. The show attracted a then
record audience of 65-million viewers, the highest ever up to that
time for a single television program.

AMERICA’S COMEDY QUEEN ON THE RADIO
Joan Davis originally appeared on the Rudy Vallee Show in 1941, and quickly
became a regular. When Vallee left his show in 1943 to join the Coast Guard,
Davis took over with great success until 1945 when she left to do Joanie’s
Tea Room on CBS radio (1945 – 1947).
