This TV commercial introduced the nation to Pizza Hut, which to this 
day remains one of the country’s most successful chains.

1940s – 1950s

Spam ,originally called spiced ham, was first introduced in 1937. The canned
precooked meat product is made by the Hormel Foods Corporation. Spam has
been the brunt of many jokes and urban legends which has made the product
part of pop culture, often called “mystery meat”. In 2007, the seven billionth
can of Spam was sold.
