Doug Ingle, a founding member and lead singer of Iron Butterfly,
has
passed away. No cause of death stated.

Fox News confirmed on Monday that the "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida"
singer died on Friday evening May 24.

Between 1974 and 1978, Ingle managed a recreational vehicle
park in the Los Angeles National Forest. He spent time painting
houses in Oregon, Washington and California.

Nurse Clarissa Harlowe "Clara" Barton was born on Christmas

, 1821, in North Oxford, Massachusetts, the American Red
Cross website notes.

She spent her early career as a teacher before moving to
Washington,
D.C. to work in the U.S. Patent Office.

According to the American Red Cross, at the time of the
American Civil War Barton shifted her career once again,
becoming a battlefield nurse.    
 

Clara Barton was inducted into the National Women’s Hall
of Fame
in 1973.

THE LAST OLDS CAME OF THE LINE IN 2004

On This Day, April 29th

On April 29, 2004, the last Oldsmobile came off the assembly
line
at the Lansing Car Assembly plant in Michigan, signaling
the end of the 106-year-old automotive brand, America’s oldest.

Factory workers signed the last Oldsmobile, an Alero sedan,
before the vehicle was moved to Lansing’s R.E. Olds Museum
where it went on display.

The last 500 Aleros ever manufactured featured “Final 500″
emblems and were painted dark metallic cherry red.

Dickey Betts, founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, dies at 80 - Obituaries

(FOX NEWS) – The Allman Brothers Band guitarist and founding
member
Dickey Betts died Thursday from cancer and chronic
obstructive pulmonary disease
.

A statement said…"The legendary performer, songwriter,
bandleader and family patriarch was at his home in Osprey,
FL., surrounded by his family. Dickey was larger than life,
and his loss will be felt world-wide."
