Robert Montgomery Presents is a dramatic television
series produced by NBC from January 30, 1950, until
June 24, 1957. The live show had several sponsors
during its eight-year run, and the title was altered to
feature the sponsor. Robert Montgomery introduced
each episode and also acted in many. The TV program
initially offered hour-long dramas adapted from
successful Hollywood films.

Felix Anthony Silla (January 11, 1937 – April 16, 2021)

(Foe News) – Felix Silla, a versatile actor best known for his
role as hairy Cousin Itt on ABCTV’s “The Addams Family,”
died Friday after battling pancreatic cancer. He also played
the robot Twiki on the NBC sci-fi series Buck Rogers in the
25th Century.

On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson, age 28, become the first
African American player in Major League Baseball when he
stepped onto Ebbets Field in Brooklyn to compete for the
Brooklyn Dodgers.

President Abraham Lincoln was shot in the head at Ford’s Theatre
in Washington, D.C. on April 14, 1865. The assassin, actor John
Wilkes Booth, shouted, “Sic semper tyrannis! (Ever thus to tyrants!)
The South is avenged,” as he jumped onto the stage and fled on horseback.
Lincoln died the next morning.

The bloodiest four years in American history began when
Confederate shore batteries under General P.G.T. Beauregard
open fire on Union-held Fort Sumter in South Carolina’s
Charleston Bay (above). During the next 34 hours, 50
Confederate guns and mortars launched more than 4,000
rounds at the poorly supplied fort. On April 13, U.S. Major
Robert Anderson surrendered the fort. Two days later, U.S.
President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation calling
for 75,000 volunteer soldiers to quell the Southern “insurrection.”
