Tonya Harding of the 1994 national championship and banned her
from the organization for life for an attack on rival Nancy Kerrigan.

On this day in 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, the heir to the
Austro-Hungarian throne, was assassinated in Sarajevo along with his
wife, Duchess Sophie. With tensions already running high among Europe’s
powers, the assassination precipitated a rapid descent into World War I.

Bruce Arthur Johnston (Benjamin Baldwin)

Singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer Bruch Johnston is best known as a member of the Beach Boys. In 1965, Johnston
joined the band for live performances, filling in for the group’s co-founder
Brian Wilson, who had quit touring in order to spend more
time in the studio. Johnston then became a contributing member
on subsequent albums.

United Nations Security Council had asked for member nations to help South

General Mills’ Cheerioats was invented in 1941. It didn’t take long
for Quaker Oats to gripe about the name and threaten legal action,
so Cheerioats became Cheerios in 1945.
