RADIO STATIONS FIRST AIR DATE IN 1920

Coverage of the Harding-Cox Election was the first radio news broadcast
of KDKA in Pittsburgh.

Radio station KDKA (1020 kHz) is licensed in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Created
by the Westinghouse Electric Corporation on November 2, 1920, it is the world’s
first commercial radio station, a distinction that has also been challenged by other stations. It is currently owned and operated by CBS Radio.

Robert Craig "Evel" Knievel (October 17, 1938 – November 30, 2007)

During his career, Knievel attempted more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle
jumps between 1965 and 1980, and in 1974, a failed jump across Snake River
Canyon
in the Skycycle X-2, a steam-powered rocket. He suffered more than
433 bone fractures in his career, thereby earning an entry in the Guinness
Book of
World Records
as the survivor of "most bones broken in a lifetime".
