Mel Brooks (Melvin Kaminsky) is 91 years old today.

As a teenager, Mel Brooks was taught the drums by the great
Buddy Rich. In 1961, his comedy career took a big leap forward
when he and fellow comic legend Carl Reiner created a comedy
sketch called The 2000 Year Old Man.

In 2000, the American Film Institute released a list of the top 100
comedy films of all-time and Brooks had three films in the top 20:
Blazing Saddles (1974) (#6), The Producers (1968) (#11) and
Young Frankenstein (1974) (#13).

told the Senate Watergate Committee about an "enemies list" that was
kept by the Nixon White House.

Patrons at the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in New York City’s Greenwich Village, clashed with police. This incident is considered to be the birth of the gay
rights movement.

Lemmon was an eight time Academy Award nominee, with two
wins. He starred in over 60 films, such as Some Like It Hot (1959)
The Apartment (1960), and Mister Roberts (for which he won
the 1955 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor).

1968. She is a two-time Emmy Award nominee and a Tony Award winner.

She made her film debut in A Christmas Carol (1938) opposite of her

Kristoffer Kristofferson was born in Brownsville, Texas.

Kris Kristofferson is known for many popular songs such as "Me and
Bobby McGee" and "For the Good Times.” He attended Pomoma
College and was featured in Sports Illustrated for his college sports
exploits (below). Kristofferson was inducted into the Country Music
Hall of Fame in 2004. He is also known for his starring roles in Alice
Doesn’t Live Here Anymore (1974) and A Star Is Born (1976), for the
latter of which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
