Mel Brooks (Melvin Kaminsky) is 91 years old today.

As a teenager, Mel Brooks was taught the drums by the great
Buddy Rich. In 1961, his comedy career took a big leap forward
when he and fellow comic legend Carl Reiner created a comedy
sketch called The 2000 Year Old Man.

In 2000, the American Film Institute released a list of the top 100
comedy films of all-time and Brooks had three films in the top 20:
Blazing Saddles (1974) (#6), The Producers (1968) (#11) and
Young Frankenstein (1974) (#13).

Actress June Lockhart played a motherly figure on the CBS television
series Lassie from 1954 to 1973 and Lost in Space on CBS from 1965 to
1968. She is a two-time
Emmy Award nominee and a Tony Award winner.

She made her film debut in A Christmas Carol (1938) opposite of her

KRIS KRISTOFFERSON IS 81 TODAY

Kristoffer Kristofferson was born in Brownsville, Texas.

Kris Kristofferson is known for many popular songs such as "Me and
Bobby McGee" and "For the Good Times.” He attended Pomoma
College and was featured in Sports Illustrated for his college sports
exploits (below). Kristofferson was inducted into the Country Music
Hall of Fame in 2004. He is also known for his starring roles in Alice
Doesn’t Live Here Anymore
(1974) and A Star Is Born (1976), for the
latter of which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor.
